Training and Assessment Information
This course is delivered online, in the workplace and in your own time.
You will participate in a total of 20 hours of training and assessment per week by distance, in the workplace and in your own time for 18 weeks (1 term of 10 weeks and 1 term of 8 weeks). Holiday breaks are 3 weeks in total and the timing of these breaks will be advised when you start your course.
You will attend 2 x 2 hour face-to-screen online training sessions a week as well as complete structured workplace learning activities in your workplace using your Self-Study Guide. Practical assessments will also be undertaken in your workplace.
You will also read through and complete Assessment Task 1: Knowledge Questions in your own time before completing the assessment.
In addition to the above, you will also need to complete approximately 2 hours of additional, unsupervised study per week including general reading and research for assessments.
Assessments for this course may include:

• role plays/observations.
At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.
You will be provided with a Student Guide relevant to each unit in your course.
COURSE PROGRESS AND ATTENDANCE
Satisfactory course progress and attendance is very important. Please read the Student Handbook carefully for more information. You will also be provided with further information about course progress and attendance requirements at your orientation.

What Are The Entry Requirements?
Academy of the Northern Territory Tech Skills has the following entry requirements:
You must:
• currently be employed in an automotive industry role and have access to small engines and equipment
• participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs; and
• have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.

Course fees do not include laptops or software – see information above. Please note that you will also be required to provide a National Police Certificate and some workplaces may require certain immunisations. These will be at your own cost. You can read more about this in the Student Handbook, and we encourage you to do so, especially if you have any concerns around these requirements.
A detailed payment plan and payment arrangements are provided in the Offer Letter and Student Agreement. You must pay all your course fees and on time. Non-payment of fees may result in cancellation of enrolment.

We will then contact you to conduct a course entry interview and LLN assessment.
